The Municipality of San Fele, a municipality of roots, is carrying out the first edition of the FESTIVAL OF ROOTS on July 27 and 28, in the period close to the religious feast of San Giustino De Jacobis (who has also become the Protector of Lucanians around the world), which already attracts San Fele tourists residing in Italy and abroad.
A concert by Paul Marinaro, a famous jazz singer and one of the finest voices in Chicago and America, is scheduled for July 27. Paul Marinaro, with distant Sanfelese roots, has participated in Chicago’s most important celebrations, in the splendid Auditorium Theatre, is starring in the film directed by Bob Williams: “You will be my music,” which was enthusiastically received a few months ago at the Buffalo International Film Festival in New York State.
“A formidable, bold and evocative singer,” writes Howard Reich in the Chicago Tribune, ”Marinaro has evolved into one of the country’s most accomplished and promising jazz-swing singers…one of the finest vocal instruments in the business today.
Protagonist of the American music scene, Marinaro would bring to San Fele, the vibes of jazz, of swing, which would go to reaffirm the international vocation of the appointment and which would go to highlight how the event intercepts “the opportunity to catalyze attention to the image of our Nation and the South throughout the world, through the eyes of our roots tourists.”
