Do you like dipping bread in oil?

Do you remember when as children your grandmother would prepare bread, oil, and a pinch of salt for you?

Such distant but sweet and affectionate memories! Let’s try to bring them closer by participating in “Tipica,” the Olive Festival of the city of Vietri di Potenza, a town titled City of Olive Oil, in Basilicata.

The food and wine journey takes place in the charming alleyways of the historic center of the village, enlivened by concerts, street artists’ performances, craft markets from Vietri, exhibitions of historical photos, and many other attractions.

This year, on August 10th and 11th, 2024, it will be the tenth edition.

During the two-day event, it will be possible to taste some of the typical dishes from Vietri, such as ciambottola, red potatoes, calzoni with soup, and first courses like parmariedd and cavatiedd. There will also be wild boar, sausage, sciurilli, and local cheeses. There will also be corn cobs, craft beer, local wine, and corners dedicated to Basilicata-produced amari, cocktails, typical sweets, and much more.
