After the first event on Friday 28 June in Oppido Lucano, the cycle of workshops ‘Fare radici’ (Making roots) organised by Italea Basilicata within the framework of the project Turismo delle Radici (Tourism of Roots) promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, financed by the European Union and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, continues with a new event in Colobraro.
The event will be held in the auditorium of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni at 6 p.m. and will include greetings by the mayor of Colobraro Nicola Lista, the regional coordinator of the Turismo delle Radici project for MAECI Elvira De Giacomo, Stefania Bruni of the Basilicata Tourist Board and Luigi Scaglione for the Centro Studi Internazionale Lucani nel Mondo.
The meeting will be addressed by Annalisa Romeo, vice-president of Paesi e Radici, for Italea Basilicata, Valeria Capobianco for the Basilicatё project, and will be joined by Nick martino from Quebec in Canada and Tony Mastadonna from Ohio (USA). The moderator will be Concetta Sarlo of Paesi e Radici and town councillor of Colobraro.
“From the magic of tradition to the tourism of origins” is the subtitle of the workshop, which takes its cue from the identity that Colobraro has been able to carve out in recent years and which, on this occasion, will give rise to the community workshop “Putting down roots. Stories and intertwining of people from Colobraro in the world’.
Italea Basilicata is the Lucanian declination of Italea’s national project, managed by the company Paesi e Radici, winner of Maeci’s call for regional activities on tourism of origins.
Among the activities to be carried out is the enhancement, storytelling and promotion of the Basilicata destination addressed to Lucanians around the world through a number of events in the area in collaboration with local organizations, the Territorial Promotion Agency (APT), institutions and the production system to reconnect with Italian-descendants and strengthen the tourism offer to them.
