Two truly unique and not-to-be-missed workshops in the Museum of Arbereshe Culture in São Paulo Albanian on August 10 and 22 as part of the Italea project.

Aug. 10 at 4 p.m. (duration about 1:30)

Ginestra Workshop:

Theory of the stages of the Broom Transformation Cycle:

  • Preparation of bouquets made by guests;
  • Breaking of bunches (previously made boiling);
  • Spinning

6 p.m. (duration about 1:30)

Workshop of Dressing:

  • Differentiation of clothing and reading codes-Description of the Wedding Procession-Vallja and banner-Fljamuri;
  • Dressing a guest in daily dress.

 

Aug. 22 at 4 p.m. (duration about 2:00)

Bagpipe workshop with Vincenzo Di Sanzo, an expert in bagpipe and surduline construction as well as an excellent player of the same.

  • History of the Bagpipe (Zampogna)
  • Explication of instrument components and sound techniques, construction of a reed.

(Allow guests great leeway with their curiosities, so the above should apply solely and exclusively as a canvas for the workshops.)

How to get there

By plane, the nearest international airports are: Bari Palese, ideal for the Jonic coast area and the province of Matera.
